Mandela Rhodes Place Launched in Grand Style

The stylish launch of eagerly anticipated Mandela Rhodes Place took place on 20th November 2006 and was attended by over 650 guests including Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Executive Mayor Helen Zille and Jakes Gerwel (Mandela Rhodes Foundation Chairperson), who, along with Eurocape Chairman Frank Gormley, formally opened Eurocape’s flagship development.

Guests eagerly made their way into the cultural and historic heart of Cape Town. Welcomed by the sounds of the delightful Qingqa school children’s’ choir in the central atrium, guests were entertained with a dramatic heart stopping reveal of the building, which saw daring stuntmen sky walk across the atrium and bungi dive from the internal steel girders to the guests gathered below. The evening provided lots of glitz with Cape Town celebrities; Mark Lottering, Justine Drake and Paul Adams rubbing shoulders with property developers, apartment owners, investors, businessmen, and other media personalities.

Valentines Competition
16 lucky couples enjoyed a magical Valentines Day, courtesy of Mandela Rhodes Place. The romantic rendezvous included glorious flowers from Lush and a bottle of champagne from Wine Concepts on arrival. A romantic culinary feast at one of the City’s two most stylish and trendy new restaurants - Café Mao and Riboville - added that special touch to their romantic evening before they retired to their luxury Mandela Rhodes Place apartments in grand style.

The heartbeat of the inner city, Mandela Rhodes Place, promises to keep the city alive with entertainment during the next couple of months.

The second St Patrick’s Ball will take place in the Company’s Garden on Saturday 17th March and will benefit the St Patrick’s Trust, which distributed over R1-million to charities following the enormously successful inaugural ball in 2006. This not-to-be-missed event will be attended by over 700 South African and Irish celebrities, dignitaries, VIP’s and corporate guests. Irish sensation Ragús will again wow the guests with their song, dance and musical talents. Call Lauren on 021-426-4759 for more information.

In partnership with the V&A Waterfront and Good Hope FM, the inaugural St Patrick’s Festival will take place in the amphitheatre of the V&A Waterfront on Friday the 16th and Saturday 17th March and promises great Irish entertainment, a best dressed competition and fun for the whole family. On 20 & 21 April, the inaugural City Harvest Festival will take place in and around Mandela Rhodes Place celebrating the glorious abundance of food and wine experiences available in Cape Town.
